Pentax Medical launches new MagniView endoscopes

Pentax Medical is launching MagniView, a new range of high-end endoscopes that allow clinicians to conduct more detailed inspection and characterisation of suspicious areas than ever.

The new devices combine up to x136 optical magnification with HD Plus and i-scan technology, supporting detailed observation of surface structures and microvasculature so that meticulous inspection of possible lesions can be carried out.

A rubber distal hood enables the clinician to easily maintain the optimal distance from the distal end to the mucosal surface, maintaining a consistently clear zoom image.

Dr Rehan Haidry, consultant gastroenterologist at University College Hospital, London, praised the device for the soft cap used on its zoom scope, which enhances its close focus and maintains clarity, thus making it easy to monitor irregular mucosal and vascular patterns in Barrett's related neoplasia.

He added: "Pentax has done very well to add another fantastic scope to its already impressive armoury … I am looking forward to using it further over the coming months."

Earlier this month, Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital revealed that it has taken delivery of state-of-the-art medical equipment supplied by Pentax, which has helped the facility to enhance its cancer detection capabilities.
