PerkinElmer introduces new Mantra Quantitative Pathology Workstation
PerkinElmer has announced the launch of a new imaging system that enables researchers to visualise, quantify, analyse and phenotype multiple types of immune cells in cancer patients.
The Mantra Quantitative Pathology Workstation with inForm Image Analysis Software is optimised for applications in cancer immunology and immunotherapy, an emerging field that involves using the body's own immune system to combat cancer.
This new solution enables researchers to investigate spatial relationships among multiple types of immune cell simultaneously within and around solid tumours, as well as being easy to use and extremely compact.
It has been designed for use with the company's comprehensive cancer immunology research workflow solution, readily integrating with PerkinElmer's Opal multiplexed immunohistochemistry reagents.
Brian Kim, president for life sciences and technology at PerkinElmer, said: "Cancer immunology research provides hope for better outcomes, especially as new drug candidates make their way through the development process."
This follows the introduction of the firm's Solaris Optical Imaging System last month.
