PerkinElmer introduces new QSight Triple Quadrupole LC/MS/MS system
PerkinElmer has announced the launch of new mass spectrometry and liquid and gas chromatography technologies at Analytica China.
During the international trade fair, the company unveiled its new QSight Triple Quadrupole LC/MS/MS instrument, which aims to provide improved sensitivity and productivity for analytical labs.
This new triple-quad system utilises patented flow-based mass spectrometry capabilities to enable laboratories to test highly complex samples and experience increased throughput. Combined with PerkinElmer's Altus UPLC instrument, it offers a complete solution for a range of food, industrial and environmental applications.
Also presented at Analytica China was the new Torion T-9 GC/MS system, the smallest portable GC/MS instrument to be developed for rapid, on-the-spot analyses outside of the lab in the field.
It is fully self-contained and weighs only 32 pounds. Since it can operate under harsh conditions and is rechargeable battery-operated, it is of particular use to hazmat teams, police, fire and bomb squads.
Jim Corbett, executive vice-president and president for discovery and analytical solutions at PerkinElmer, said: "Our offerings help customers gain fast and critical insights into important environmental issues to protect our food supply, ensure cleaner air, soil and water, provide critical data during hazardous situations, and comply with continually evolving regulations."
