PerkinElmer launches chemical visualisation tools for iPad

6th June 2013

PerkinElmer has introduced new ChemDraw and Chem3D apps for the Apple iPad, user-friendly tools for the visualisation of chemical compounds.

The ChemDraw app is a mobile version of the widely-utilised ChemDraw software suite, which allows users to draw, study and save molecules and chemical reactions, while Chem3D allows scientists to download 3D structures of many types and display them with unique versatility.

Both software products feature Flick-to-Share technology to help users easily and rapidly share molecular structures across mobile devices using only a single finger swipe.

These are the first in a series of apps PerkinElmer is developing to expand its leading electronic laboratory notebook and scientific instrument franchises.

Michael Stapleton, vice-president and general manager for informatics at PerkinElmer, said: "We can now provide all chemists – from research scientists to high school students – with cost-effective, portable and accessible applications that capture and share their moments of inspiration."

This comes after the firm expanded its OneSource Strategic Lab Solutions brand to incorporate strategic laboratory consulting services last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801595870-ADNFCR
