PerkinElmer launches Lamina multilabel slide scanner
PerkinElmer has announced the launch of its new Lamina multilabel slide scanner at the 2014 USCAP annual meeting.
The device is a high-throughput imaging system that can help research pathologists study protein expression and the relationships between disease markers in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
Allowing scientists to gain a deeper understanding of diseases for the development of more effective therapies and treatments, the system features advanced digital pathology capabilities that allow for the clearer and faster visualisation of disease markers in tissue.
Configured to meet the needs of a larger research facility, it includes high-speed brightfield and fluorescence imaging modalities, plus PerkinElmer's proprietary Autofluorescence Reduction Technology.
Jim Corbett, president of diagnostics, life sciences and technology at PerkinElmer, said: "The Lamina scanner can help research pathologists more effectively interpret their images by automating workflows and providing clearer and faster results."
During the 2013 business year, the company experienced year-on-year revenue growth, with further profitable growth expected in 2014.
