PerkinElmer launches new automated electrophoresis systems

9th July 2014

PerkinElmer has announced the launch of a new pair of automated gel electrophoresis systems, which offer precise nucleic acid quantification and protein characterisation capabilities.

Eliminating the need for manual sample preparation, the LabChip GX Touch and GXII Touch systems help users to reduce hands-on time and simplify data generation thanks to a user-friendly touchscreen interface.

The LabChip GX system is able to enhance genomics research processes by precisely quantifying nucleic acids, while the GXII Touch system speeds up the protein characterisation process, helping to accelerate the development of biotherapeutic drugs.

Through the launch of these products, the company hopes to enhance workflows for genomics research.

Brian Kim, president for life sciences and technology for PerkinElmer, said: "With these two new systems, scientists can harness microfluidics capabilities to obtain results more quickly and efficiently, improve their processes, and make significant research advancements."

This follows the launch of the firm's EnSight Multimode Plate Reader last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801734357-ADNFCR
