PerkinElmer launches new biomolecule research assays

6th April 2010

PerkinElmer has released 28 new additions to its range of cell signalling pathway and biomarker research assay kits.

The new products are part of its portfolio of No Wash amplified luminescent proximity homogeneous assay (Alpha) technology and are designed for use in the study of illnesses such as cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.

They include new AlphaScreen SureFire endogenous cellular kinase assays for research into phospho-proteins within cellular pathways, while its AlphaLISA No-Wash immunoassay kits allow for the study of biomarkers.

In total, the science company now offers 174 different Alpha-based assay kits.

Dr Richard Eglen, president of bio-discovery at PerkinElmer, said: “As scientific demand increases for sophisticated and robust methods for measuring cell signalling pathways and biomarkers for use in disease research, PerkinElmer remains at the forefront in meeting these critical needs.”

Last week, the company also released its new Sample Preparation Block systems, which are designed for sample digestion applications in laboratory research.
