PerkinElmer launches new epigenetic research assay kits
PerkinElmer has launched a panel of nine new epigenetic research assay kits for use in genetic research for healthcare applications.
The assays are designed for use in the detection of endogenous histone modifications and are the only homogenous cellular assays optimised for this purpose.
Cell-based assays are closely related to true biology and are therefore able to produce more physiologically relevant results than traditional Western Blot or ELISA methods.
The new products were introduced as part of the San Francisco Revolutionaries for Global Health Summit, one of a series of events that are being hosted by PerkinElmer.
Kevin Hrusovsky, president for life sciences and technology at PerkinElmer, said: "I am very excited about our new epigenetic panel launched at last week's summit, which will play a vital role in helping researchers to uncover treatments that reverse environmental causes of disease."
Last month, the company published its financial report for the third quarter of 2012, during which it experienced a 13 percent year-on-year increase in revenues.
