PerkinElmer maintains momentum in third quarter

9th November 2010

PerkinElmer has expressed satisfaction with its third quarter financial results for 2010 after recording a double-digit year-on-year organic revenue growth.

The life sciences company accumulated $419.1 million (259.5 million pounds) in revenue from continuing operations during the last three months, up by 11 percent compared to Q3 2009.

This growth trend benefited both its human health and environmental health divisions, while profit levels were also up on the year-ago period.

In addition, PerkinElmer noted that the imminent divesture of its illumination and detection solutions business will be of benefit to the execution of its long-term growth strategy.

Robert Friel, chairman and chief executive officer of PerkinElmer, said: "Our double-digit organic revenue growth is a testament to the strength we are seeing across many of our end markets and the benefits arising from our continued strategic focus."

Earlier this month, the company agreed a collaboration with LinaTech into new imaging technology for certain types of cancer.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800225475-ADNFCR
