PerkinElmer reveals third-quarter financial results
PerkinElmer has published its financial results for the third quarter of 2009, which show that the firm’s revenue reached $437 million (264.1 million pounds), as previously predicted.
Its revenue from continuing operations during this period was $437.1 million – a decrease of 9 per cent compared to the same time in 2008.
GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) operating profit from continuing operations was $26.4 million, compared to $43.1 million for the same period last year.
Robert Friel, chairman and chief executive officer of PerkinElmer, explained: “The organisation continues to perform very well through this difficult environment, improving our operational execution, while building a stronger company through introducing innovative new products and expanding our capabilities in key growth areas.”
He added that the firm believes that markets are currently in the process of stabilising and are showing signs of improvement.
Earlier this month, PerkinElmer launched its new EnSpire multi-label plate reader on to the scientific equipment market.
