PerkinElmer to collaborate with VWR

PerkinElmer’s OneSource unit, a component of its Analytical Sciences and Laboratory Services business, has entered into an agreement with VWR in order to develop a joint service offering.

In a statement, the organisation explained that the combined solution with the worldwide laboratory distribution and supply firm provides multi-vendor maintenance and qualification services across an array of laboratory equipment.

The firm said that this will allow market participants to benefit from the expertise of both enterprises while enjoying the convenience associated with a consolidated service contract.

Commenting on the news, Dusty Tenney, president of Analytical Sciences and Laboratory Services at PerkinElmer, said: “Through this agreement with VWR, we have created a service solution that addresses a wide range of laboratory equipment for optimum cost-savings, service model simplification and lab productivity.”

This partnership follows PerkinElmer’s expansion of its No Wash Amplified Luminescent Proximity Homogeneous Assay Technology range with the introduction of 46 new assay kits last month.
