PerkinElmer to open new Centre of Excellence

4th March 2009

Perkin Elmer has announced the launch of a new facility where it will train its staff and boost its bio-discovery business.

Designed to offer a better approach to the development of automation, detection, analysis, data imaging and other solutions, the Singapore-based unit will be the second of its kind in the republic.

The Centre of Excellence will be equipped with PerkinElmer’s wide range of instrumentation and software systems for use in biotechnical and pharmaceutical education.

Dr Richard Eglen, president of bio-discovery at the group, said the institution would help create more innovations in the future.

"PerkinElmer looks forward to providing industry leading laboratory instruments, consumables, services and customer service to advance solutions for human health in Asia and worldwide," he added.

Later this month, PerkinElmer will host its 2nd Annual Global Issues Consortium, with speakers including Bill Bertera of the Water Environment Federation and Charles A Samuels of the Consumer Product Safety Group.
