PerkinElmer to provide sequencing solutions to Macrogen

PerkinElmer has announced a new deal with Macrogen pertaining to the provision of next-generation sequencing (NGS) sample preparation solutions.

The agreement will see PerkinElmer supply Macrogen with a number of high-throughput NGS sample preparation instruments, including the Sciclone NGS Workstation, LabChip XT nucleic acid size selection and collection system and the LabChip GX nucleic acid separation system.

It will allow the Korea-based Macrogen to automate and improve its sequencing analysis efficiency and throughput, thus helping it to provide a higher quality of service to its clients.

PerkinElmer's contributions will aid its partner's research in the field of personalised medicine and genome analysis.

Last month, the company presented a number of new innovations at the Analytica 2012 industry conference, including the AxION Time of Flight Mass Spectrometer and Flexar FX-15 UHPLC liquid chromatography system.
