Petplan hails success of 2011 Veterinary Awards

4th April 2011

Petplan, the animal health insurance brand of Allianz, has highlighted the success of its recent Veterinary Awards for 2011.

In association with the Veterinary Times, the 12th annual awards event is designed to honour the work of UK animal health professionals, with a record total of more than 2,800 nominations being received this year.

Alison Laurie of Crown Vets in the Highlands was named as vet of the year for 2011, while Ipswich-based Maria Corcoran and Patty Fraser of Kinross respectively won the vet nurse of the year and vet support staff of the year prizes.

Meanwhile, Emersons Green Veterinary Surgery in Avon was presented with the vet practice of the year title.

Alison Andrew, Petplan's marketing manager, said: "The Petplan Veterinary Awards give us the opportunity, on behalf of all pet owners across the UK, to thank the veterinary profession for the outstanding service they provide to our pets."

Last month, the company launched the Petplan UK Pet Census, a report designed to highlight the importance of companion animals to those in Britain.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800486598-ADNFCR
