Pfizer and Swansea University announce health research partnership
Pfizer has announced a new health research alliance with Swansea University, focused on improving health across Wales.
A new memorandum of understanding has been signed with the university that will see the organisations working alongside other relevant partners on a range of future initiatives, leveraging their shared pool of expertise.
This will include the establishment of a new Pfizer innovation hub at the university, to be located within its school of management at the 450 million pound science and innovation Bay Campus, and working closely with the medical school's Institute of Life Science enterprise and innovation team.
Erik Nordkamp, managing director for Pfizer UK, said: "Through sharing our different skills and expertise we really can make a difference to improving health outcomes for patients, and developing new ways of supporting the provision of healthcare."
This comes as part of a wider commitment by the university to support and enhance links between health professionals, policy makers and external organisations, having opened an education innovation hub in partnership with Fujitsu in October last year.
