Pfizer Animal Health agrees new research partnership
Pfizer Animal Health has agreed to enter into a new research partnership with the American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation (CHF).
The collaboration will see the two organisations share scientific expertise and leadership, while the veterinary medicines company will also be contributing funding to aid canine disease research.
It will also allow the partners to establish potential new research avenues and create a grant portfolio to support animal health initiatives.
This is the latest phase in a long-standing relationship between Pfizer Animal Health and CHF, with previous partnerships focusing on canine comparative oncology and mast cell tumours.
Dr David Haworth, director of global alliances for Pfizer Animal Health, said: "We have the opportunity to gain enormous insights and be a part of pursuing scientific discoveries that not only impact animals, but also may involve translational medicine that impacts humans."
Last month, the company launched Inforce 3, a three-way intranasal respiratory vaccine which protects cattle against a number of common bovine diseases.
