Pfizer Animal Health opens renovated laboratory

Pfizer Animal Health is proud of its $75 million (51 million pounds) newly renovated laboratory, it has been reported.

There will be around 680 researchers, technicians and support staff working in the 780,000 sq ft building in Kalamazoo, explained Mlive.com.

A number of officials, community and business leaders were on hand for the opening reception, which was held on Tuesday (April 21st), the website continued to note.

The company’s veterinary medicine and development division, along with its animal genetics department, will operate in the laboratory ? which has been called Building 300.

Juan-Ramon Alaix, president of Pfizer Animal Health, was quoted on the online resource saying: “We see a future of continued Pfizer science here in Kalamazoo.”

The company looks to provide medical solutions that veterinarians and pet owners can use, while also discovering and developing vaccines and medicines for creatures.

It additionally produces animal feed, which aims to help agricultural workers maximise the profitability of their dairy, beef, pork or poultry operations.
