Pfizer to move to new global headquarters

Pfizer is to relocate into a brand new state-of-the-art global headquarters in New York.

The pharmaceutical company has signed a 20-year-lease for The Spiral, a new office tower being constructed in Manhattan.

Members of staff are expected to begin moving into the new premises in 2022.

Albert Bourla, chief operating officer at Pfizer, stated that the company has a long history in New York dating back to 1849.

As a result, it is "proud" to continue its commitment to the city by moving to The Spiral, which will be located at 66 Hudson Boulevard at Hudson Yards.

"In relocating our headquarters, we sought to provide our colleagues a modern, state-of-the-art headquarters that would foster greater collaboration and innovation in a vibrant neighbourhood in Manhattan," Mr Bourla said.

Deputy mayor of New York City Alicia Glen added that it is grateful to Pfizer for supporting its efforts to establish New York as a global leader in the "fast-growing" life sciences sector.
