Philips announces UK dental lecture plans for 2010-11

17th September 2010

Philips has announced plans to conduct a series of dental industry events, lectures and courses across the UK in the coming months.

Beginning with a day-into-evening course in Birmingham on November 3rd 2010, the dental equipment provider will be hosting events in cities such as Glasgow, Exeter, London and Belfast, with the programme extending into early 2011, reports Dentistry.co.uk.

These talks will be aimed both at dental professionals and students and will feature input from leading industry authorities including Professor Robin Seymour, aesthetic dentist Dr Mani Bhardwaj and hygienist Ann Gilbert.

The aim of the lectures will be to advance understanding of the latest developments in the industry, including issues affecting periodontal disease, patient behaviour and medico-legal issues.

Tricia Rawsthorne, professional relations manager for Philips, said: "We have subsidised and in some cases fully funded these courses to ensure as many people as possible can attend and that costs are kept to a minimum."

According to Philips' most recent financial report in July 2010, the Sonicare manufacturer saw its sales increase by 12 per cent year-on-year during the second quarter of the year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800070199-ADNFCR
