Philips highlights broad adoption of Digital Pathology Solutions

16th September 2015

Philips has highlighted the growing popularity of its Digital Pathology Solutions among health systems seeking to enhance their operations.

Through its IntelliSite Pathology Solution, the company is helping healthcare organisations to reinvent its traditional histopathology workflow, enhance efficiency and productivity, and improve confidence diagnostic decision-making.

For example, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is using the technology to develop a service for remote digital reporting of pathology cases, in partnership with Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, while Singapore General Hospital recently implemented the world's largest digital pathology installation using Philips' solutions.

Additionally, the AZ Sint Jan in Brugge, Belgium and two private pathology laboratories in Austria are using the technology, with Germany's largest telemedicine platform also making use of it.

Russell Granzow, general manager of Philips' digital pathology solutions business, said: "As the shift towards personalised medicine requires pathology data that guides the right therapy for the right patient at the right time, Philips is driving the evolution toward digitised workflows."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801800636-ADNFCR
