Philips launches new therapy device for sleep apnoea patients
Philips has unveiled a new therapy device to make it easier for sleep apnoea patients to travel.
The DreamStation Go is a positive airway pressure (PAP) device that is half the size of its previous products.
However, Philips believes it offers the same level of comfort and clinically-proven performance, which means it represents a reliable and convenient therapy option for people with the condition who are on the move.
The DreamStation Go weighs less than two pounds and includes a built-in power supply, thereby reducing the number of components that need packing.
Commenting on the innovation, Mark D'Angelo of Philips said: "Travelling with a sleep therapy device can be a cumbersome experience for patients with obstructive sleep apnoea."
This, he stated, has led to many users resenting and even forgoing therapy when they are travelling.
"We designed the DreamStation Go as a holistic system with compact features and proven performance to help eliminate the need to sacrifice reliable therapy for convenience when travelling and vice versa, allowing for the best possible night's sleep no matter where it happens," Mr D'Angelo added.
