Philips receives BDHF accreditation for Sonicare AirFloss

16th November 2012

Philips has received an independent accreditation from a leading dental health charity for the Sonicare AirFloss powered toothbrush.

The British Dental Health Foundation (BDHF) has supported the marketing claims made by Philips about the product following evaluation by a panel of internationally recognised dental experts, reports Dentistry.co.uk.

Sonicare AirFloss is designed to make interproximal cleaning easier, using microburst technology to fill the area between teeth with a rapid burst of air and tiny water droplets.

It is simple to operate and cleans between each tooth in less than a minute, while also using less than one teaspoon of water in two cleaning sessions.

The charity's chief executive Dr Nigel Carter said: "The foundation evaluates consumer oral health care products to ensure that manufacturers' product claims are clinically proven and not exaggerated."

Philips' Sonicare technology has been backed by more than 175 clinical and laboratory studies worldwide to date.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801489693-ADNFCR
