Philips wins Best in KLAS Award for ultrasound innovations

Philips has won an award from the research and insights firm KLAS for its cutting-edge range of ultrasound products.

The company has earned the 2016 Best in KLAS Award in the ultrasound category for its breadth of ultrasound solutions, spanning diagnostic, interventional, point-of-care and software applications.

Specifically, the firm received praise for its work in expanding the use of ultrasound technology by providing a broad portfolio of innovations to provide the right information the first time of use.

Recent innovations from Philips' ultrasound business include the new Epiq and Affiniti ultrasound systems and the Lumify ultra-mobile app-based solution, as well as the Sparq and CX50 systems.

Vitor Rocha, chief executive officer of ultrasound for Philips, said: "This distinguished honor from KLAS reaffirms our commitment to designing solutions that combine exceptional image quality with advancements to improve efficiency and reproducibility while reducing healthcare costs."

Previous awards received by Philips from KLAS include three consecutive Best in KLAS honours for its iE33 xMATRIX-enabled echocardiography system.
