Planmeca hosts visit by George Osborne at Helsinki site

Planmeca has hailed the success of a recent ministerial visit that took place at its facility in Helsinki.

British chancellor George Osborne and Finland's minister of finance Alexander Stubb were given a tour of Planmeca's X-ray production facilities, where they were given a chance to learn about the workings of the company's high-tech assembly line.

The ministers also spoke with Planmeca founder and president Heikki Kyostila, as well as other top company representatives such as vice-president of sales Jouko Nykanen and Karl O'Higgins, managing director of Planmeca UK.

A statement from the company said: "We would like to express our warmest appreciation for the visit."

Employing nearly 2,700 people worldwide, Planmeca is a leading manufacturer of dental technology and other healthcare innovations, with products distributed in more than 120 countries worldwide.

Its range includes digital dental units, 2D and 3D imaging devices, and comprehensive CAD/CAM and software solutions. It is the largest privately-held company in the field of dental equipment.
