Porter Novelli appoints regulatory and health policy head

23rd March 2010

Porter Novelli has selected Peter Pitts to the newly created role of global head of regulatory and health policy.

The public relations company has appointed Mr Pitts to take charge of providing advice on the impact regulatory and health policy will have on businesses.

He will consult with clients from a number of different sectors in addition to healthcare, including food and personal care, which the firm said reflects “the growing need for client counsel in this area beyond the traditional pharmaceutical sector”.

This comes after Shipra Singh was announced as head of healthcare for Europe, the Middle East and Asia earlier this month, with the appointments designed to allow for closer client interaction.

Julie Winskie, Porter Novelli’s president of global clients, said: “This new structure reflects our focus on organising the agency around individual clients and ensuring our best talent can offer direct counsel to clients and be involved hands-on in the day-to-day work.”

Last week, the company won the Best Use of Research and Measurement accolade at the PRWeek Awards 2010 for an MRSA awareness campaign it organised for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
