Prescription Infant Monitoring Device Approved by FDA

Masimo’s Stork, an infant monitoring device, has been approved by the FDA. 

The device was designed as an ongoing monitoring tool for infants aged between 0 and 8 months.  

The device utilizes Masimo’s Signal Extraction Technology, which is currently employed by multiple healthcare facilities, monitoring vitals for just over 10 million newborns each year.  

Following a doctor’s prescription, relatives will be alerted about their infant’s pulse rate, and blood oxygen saturation. This information can also be accessed by medical specialists online. 

Joe Kiani, the head executive of Masimo, commented, “I know how important it is for parents to better understand their baby’s physiological well-being, especially when they are sick, and it’s our privilege to provide them with an easy-to-use, accurate product that allows them to continuously monitor key vital signs for less than one-tenth of the cost I paid and also includes video surveillance.”
