Prism Ideas granted ENCePP membership

11th November 2010

Prism Ideas has been granted membership of the European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance (ENCePP), a new body designed to uphold standards in clinical research.

It means that Prism becomes one of fewer than ten commercial companies to be accepted into the network, which is primarily comprised of academic, governmental and not-for-profit organisations.

ENCePP was recently created by the European Medicines Agency in order to encourage superior conduct in terms of funding and communication of results, as well as adherence to established methodological standards in study protocols.

Its other objectives include augmenting the quality of expertise and resources available to European firms, as well as standardising e-registration of studies.

Dr James Sawyer, chief executive officer of Prism, said: "The acceptance of our application by ENCePP demonstrates that Prism is recognised as a centre of excellence for the provision of pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance services."

Last month, the medical marketing company was presented with a 2010 Queen's Award for Enterprise by David Briggs, the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800229993-ADNFCR
