Procter and Gamble to ally with Biolase on product launch

Procter and Gamble is to collaborate with dental laser specialist Biolase Technology on the launch of new light-based oral care devices.

Under the terms of the agreement, Biolase will market the products to dental care professionals via its primary distribution partner Henry Schein, as well as other Biolase-allied companies worldwide.

Biolase believes that the agreement will allow it to deliver the benefits of the technology to a wider range of users, as well as making its brand more recognisable in the global market.

David Mulder, chief executive officer of Biolase, added: “This agreement on implementing a product launch is an important milestone in our partnership with Procter and Gamble, a proven, global leader in the development, sales and marketing of professional and consumer products.”

Earlier this month, Procter and Gamble reported year-on-year sales volume growth during the first quarter of 2010, thanks in part to the improved performance of its oral care division and the successful launch of new Crest and Oral-B products.
