ProStrakan six-month revenues ‘up 40%’
ProStrakan, a pharmaceutical firm based in Scotland, has announced that its revenues rose by 40 per cent during the first six months of 2009.
Additionally, its gross profit increased by 44 per cent, bringing them up to a total of 24.8 million pounds – compared to 17.2 million pounds during the same time in 2008.
This success was driven by product sales, which were found to have risen from 2.4 million pounds to 34.6 million pounds – an improvement of 36 per cent.
Operating losses amounted to 6.7 million pounds – again, an improvement on the £9.8 million losses the company recorded last year.
Welcoming the news, Dr Wilson Totten, chief executive of ProStrakan, commented: “The continuing progress that we are reporting today reinforces our confidence in achieving break-even by the end of 2009.”
ProStrakan currently employs around 200 individuals and has operations throughout the UK and Europe.
