Publicis Groupe wins global brief with Hewlett Packard Enterprise
Publicis Groupe has been handed a new broad-ranging global brief by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), one of the world's leading providers of enterprise IT solutions.
Following an agency review that kicked off in January, the technology giant has moved much of its business to Publicis Groupe, with Publicis Worldwide New York to serve as its lead creative agency, reports Campaign.
Other group members such as Digitas LBi, Optimedia, Prodigious and Razorfish will also work on the account, succeeding Omnicom shops Doremus, Rapp and OMG. HPE's work with Ketchum, Siegel and Gale, Interbrand and GMR will not be affected.
BBDO had previously served as HPE's lead creative agency, but did not participate in the review due to a potential conflict of interest with its AT&T enterprise account. BBDO still works on the Hewlett Packard consumer brand, which split from the enterprise business last year.
Publicis began pitching to HPE in February of this year, with the scope of the proposed partnership gradually expanding since then.
Arthur Sadoun, chief executive officer at Publicis Worldwide, said in an internal memo: "HPE, recognising the transformative capabilities of our agency, asked to see more. This enquiry led to a broader discussion about the Groupe and, before we knew it, we were exploring the potential of a global solution."
