PulmoBioMed Secure £1.4 Million for Handheld Asthma Device

PulmoBioMed, a Medical Device firm, has raised £1.4 million, which is set to go towards broadening awareness of their handheld asthma device.  

The investment round was spearheaded by the Northeast Venture Fund with contributions from European Regional Development.  

The most common sampling technologies are either too intrusive for consistent use or provide unclear diagnoses.  

Clinical investigations have demonstrated that it furnished pure deep lung specimens within a two-minute timeframe, aiding in the identification and measurement of lung infections and inflammation in every symptomatic instance.  

The corporation aims to concentrate on the American market and prioritize asthma detection, although the apparatus is apt for identifying various ailments, including pneumonia.  

The chief executive officer at PulmoBioMed, Dr Sterghios Moschos, stated, “Over 300 million asthma patients suffer slow diagnosis, and millions of others are hospitalized every year with pneumonias that are impossible to diagnose with current tests.   

Dr Moschos went on to add, “By helping clinicians understand their patients’ disease and select treatments that work, PBM-Hale, has the potential to transform respiratory care.”
