Purina announces competition winners

23rd April 2009

Purina is pleased to have two of Britain’s pets as new faces for its 2009 advertising campaign, it has been reported.

Some 178 felines and canines entered the company’s One in a Million competition and there were a couple that particularly stood out, explained the Pet Health Portal.

Ella the cat and Braque the dog won the contest and were noted for their healthy teeth and gums, bright eyes and glossy coats, the website stated.

The online resource quoted the firm’s brand manager Fiona Wylie as saying the company wanted animals that were fed Purina One so it could highlight the food’s benefits.

She remarked: “Both Braque and Ella are full of life ? Braque looks extremely agile and healthy, which made him particularly stand out amongst the competition, while for Ella it was her striking eyes.”

Meanwhile, the company recently expanded its PurinaCare Insurance Services.

President and chief operating officer of the division David Goodnight asserted the cover will help pet owners provide better preventative care, while also being able to address unforeseen issues that may arise with a canine or feline.
