Purina brand reveals dog owners’ affections

5th August 2009

Purina brand Beneful has published the results of a study which found that 95 per cent of dog owners believe spending time with their animal lifts their spirits.

Meanwhile, 92 per cent of respondents said that their canine helps them to enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

Almost half (48 per cent) of the pet owners interviewed said that they could not live without seeing their dog on a daily basis.

The company carried out the study as it launched the online resource WagWorld, which contains information about dog-friendly destinations and attractions, as well as offering owners the chance to upload pictures of themselves with their animal.

Matt Ferch, Beneful assistant brand manager, said: “Dog lovers know that life truly is better together with their four-legged friends. Our dogs are our best friends and help make every day full of play and adventure.”

In recent days, Purina announced the winners of its Mighty Dog Nation: The Movie competition. The victors included a Jack Russell Terrier called Jesse.
