Qiagen and CosmosID introduce new plugin for metagenomics analysis

Qiagen has launched a new metagenomics analysis plugin for its Microbial Genomics Pro Suite and CLC Genomics Workbench.

The plugin has been developed by CosmosID, a leading genomic big data company, and offers support for shotgun metagenomics and microbiome profiling in applications such as infectious disease, food safety, animal health, agriculture and environmental analysis.

This new offering is particularly helpful for those working with complex metagenomics samples, as accurately identifying pathogens and identifying genes involved in virulence or antibiotic resistance is crucial for this field.

As such, the CosmosID plugin provides users with access to a combination of precision algorithms and highly-curated content in reference databases at the same time. Results of comparative dataset analysis are visually accessible via heatmaps and principal component analysis plots.
