Qiagen surpasses 2,000 QIAsymphony placements

16th November 2017

Qiagen has announced that its highly successful QIAsymphony platform has surpassed 2,000 cumulative worldwide placements.

It has been confirmed that the sample-to-insight workflow automation solution for molecular laboratories has already passed its year-end goal of exceeding 2,000 placements, with double-digit growth in sales of the systems' related consumables also observed.

The 2,000th QIAsymphony device is being delivered to Caris Life Sciences, a leading US-based global provider of molecular testing services, which will use the platform to enable the delivery of precision medicine for cancer and other complex diseases.

Peer Schatz, chief executive officer of Qiagen, said: "QIAsymphony has shaped a new era of integrated molecular testing and laboratory automation while enabling breakthroughs in science and valuable insights in molecular diagnostics for customers around the world."

QIAsymphony has enjoyed considerable traction since its launch around seven years ago, and now features the broadest test menu of any platform in its category in Europe and other markets, as well as the unique ability to handle laboratory-developed tests.

In the second half of 2017, submissions have been initiated for five additional test kits, with approvals expected in 2018.
