Quintiles moves up in Training Top 125
Quintiles has improved on its position in the Training Top 125, an annual report that ranks companies according to their employee training and development schemes.
The biopharmaceutical services firm rose to number 47 from number 80 in 2009, when it appeared in the rankings for the first time.
Compiled by Training magazine, the Top 125 list reflects an assessment of a range of factors, including investment in employee development, hours of training per employee and the scope of development programmes.
Tim Bray, vice-president of global learning and development, said that it was “very rewarding” for the firm to post a significant improvement in its training ranking.
“Because we are a service-oriented company, the skills and knowledge of our employees are at the very core of what we do,” he claimed.
Mr Bray added that Quintiles, which employs about 23,000 people worldwide, places a “special emphasis on growth and development”.
PricewaterhouseCoopers held on to the number one spot in the Training Top 125 for the third consecutive year, while Cisco was the highest new entry in the rankings at number seven.
