Radiometer’s tinyTeddy sensor has been singled out for praise at a recent ceremony, it has emerged.

The Red Dot Design Awards highlighted the transcutaneous sensor system as part of its 2009 honours in its international product design category.

A spokesman for Radiometer said the win was particularly gratifying due to the fact the event is one of the most prestigious international accolades a firm can hope for.

"To be chosen for the award among 11,000 entries from 61 countries is a great recognition of the research, design and development behind this tiny product."

In addition to its soft fixation ring, designed to kind to the delicate skin of a baby, the tinyTeddy sensor is fitted with a membraning tool that can be changed quickly and with low risk of error.
