RB reports year-on-year growth in first quarter of 2015
RB has announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2015, during which it generated a sales total of 2.22 billion pounds.
This represented a year-on-year increase of five percent on a like-for-like basis, or one percent in reported terms. Based on this performance, RB said it remains on track to meet its goals for the full year.
In Europe and North America, the firm achieved broad-based growth across all key geographies, while in developing markets an improving trend in India helped to offset a weaker performance in Latin America.
Its consumer health brands continued to grow strongly and outperform the wider market, thanks to recent innovation and a lucrative flu season. The firm's Dettol, Lysol and Harpic offerings were also highly successful.
Rakesh Kapoor, chief executive officer at RB, said: "Our focused strategy is paying off and has delivered a good Q1 against a backdrop of stable developed markets and mixed emerging markets."
