RCVS to organise CPD course for overseas vets

29th October 2012

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) has announced details of a two-day course aimed at providing overseas vets with the necessary information and support needed to practise in the UK.

In partnership with the British Veterinary Association (BVA) and the Veterinary Defence Society, the industry body will be organising the continuous professional development (CPD) session for the benefit of vets who are planning to move to the UK or have arrived recently.

Taking place on November 27th and 28th 2012 at the BVA's London headquarters, the first part of the course offers information on legal issues and support structures, while the second focuses on communication skills.

The aim of this event will be to prepare vets to provide high-quality services and avoid potential complaints.

RCVS president Jacqui Molyneux said: "We hope that this two-day course will help overseas graduates to better understand the professional framework in the UK, improving their confidence and ability to deliver an excellent service to their clients."

This comes after the organisation participated in an antimicrobial resistance symposium hosted by the Royal College of Physicians earlier this month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801478233-ADNFCR
