Reckitt Benckiser included in Dow Jones Sustainability World Index

Reckitt Benckiser has been included in the latest Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, highlighting its status as one of the world's most sustainable businesses.

The company was included in the index for a second consecutive year, scoring highly in the household products industry category for its economic, social and environmental performance.

Specifically, it achieved top scores in supply chain management, tax strategy, packaging, corporate citizenship and philanthropy, environmental policy, occupational health and safety, product stewardship and environmental reporting.

This comes after the firm was recently ranked fourth globally in the Newsweek Green Rankings, another of the world's foremost rankings on corporate sustainability.

Rakesh Kapoor, chief executive officer of Reckitt Benckiser, said the company "has ambitious sustainability goals for 2020, and we're proud that our performance so far has once again been recognised in the latest Dow Jones Sustainability Index".

By 2020, the organisation is seeking to cut its water impact and carbon output by one-third, as well as to have one-third of its net revenue generated from more sustainable products.
