Red Door Communications wins Pharmacy Voice/PAGB brief

13th November 2013

Red Door Communications has been hired by two organisations representing the pharmacy sector to launch a new public information campaign.

Community pharmacy umbrella organisation Pharmacy Voice and trade body the Proprietary Association of Great Britain (PAGB) have hired Red Door for the brief, which aims to stop people asking their GP for antibiotics to treat coughs and colds, reports PRWeek.

Instead, the consumer media relations campaign aims to encourage the public to visit a website called Treat Yourself Better, which will provide them with information on how pharmacies can offer a preferable alternative.

The aim of this initiative is to prevent unnecessary visits to the GP surgeries or accident and emergency departments.

PAGB director of health policy and public affairs Gopa Mitra said: "Our new campaign aims to educate people on normal symptom duration and provide advice on how they can effectively treat themselves with pharmacy support."

Red Door Communications is part of the Creston Health group, which also includes agencies such as Rock Medical Communications, PAN and Alembic Health Communications.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801660315-ADNFCR
