ResMed launches new Lumis series of noninvasive ventilators

ResMed has announced the launch of its new Lumis series of noninvasive ventilation devices in selected European markets.

The series includes the Lumis 100 VPAP S, Lumis 100 VPAP ST and Lumis 150 VPAP ST ventilator systems, all of which support a variety of therapy modes and offer built-in wireless connectivity, integrated humidification and intuitive simplicity.

Key elements of the new product range include their broad selection of automatic settings, allowing users to personalise their care, and their compatibility with AirView, the company's cloud-based patient management system.

Following the EU launch, the Lumis products will be made available in additional regions throughout 2015 and early 2016.

Luke Maguire, president of ResMed's cardiorespiratory care global business unit, said: "Lumis joins ResMed's Stellar and Astral lines as a new entry-level option for care providers to efficiently and effectively manage the respiratory stability of their patients."

This comes after the firm recently announced its financial results for the third quarter of its 2015 business year, during which it experienced a six percent year-on-year increase in revenue.
