ResMed reports record-breaking quarterly performance

29th October 2010

ResMed has posted its best ever quarterly financial performance in the three months ending on September 30th 2010.

The medical technology company's latest fiscal report shows that revenues for the quarter came to $282 million (177.2 million pounds), a 14 percent year-over-year rise, while net income grew by 35 percent to $56.7 million.

Both of these totals represent new records for ResMed, with the strong performance being attributed to demand for the new S9 AutoSet and Elite flow generators, as well as robust mask sales.

Kieran Gallahue, president and chief executive officer of ResMed, also welcomed the growing body of clinical evidence highlighting the dangers of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB).

He explained: "The increase in awareness of the role that SDB plays in costly and debilitating co-morbidities … should continue to be a major driver of market expansion."

Last month, the company published a new study showing the positive benefits offered by its S9 Series continuous positive airway pressure system to sleep therapy patients.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800202456-ADNFCR
