ResMed reports record results for 2010-11 business year

11th August 2011

ResMed has published its financial report for the 2010-11 business year, during which it generated a record-breaking level of revenue and income.

The company saw a 14 percent year-on-year rise in revenue for the 12 months ending on June 30th 2011, reaching a total of $1.2 billion (740.5 million pounds), with a benchmark $341.9 million fourth-quarter performance contributing to this.

During the last 12 months, the firm has adopted an active approach to small technology-focused acquisitions and partnerships that will help it to further improve its standing in the sleep-disordered breathing treatment sector.

This included the newly-announced takeover of medical humidification product developer Grundler, which was agreed at the start of this month.

Dr Peter Farrell, chairman and chief executive officer of ResMed, said: "Due to the strong correlation between sleep-disordered breathing and comorbidities … we believe that there are significant opportunities to further penetrate the market."

The executive has served in his current role since the start of February 2011, following the departure of former chief Kieran Gallahue.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800697144-ADNFCR
