Restructure plans take shape at Rotherham NHS Trust

5th February 2013

Restructure plans at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust are beginning to take shape.

Acting chief executive of the trust Matthew Lowry has been replaced by new interim chief executive Michael Morgan as the board of directors looks to shake up the service, BBC News reports.

It was also revealed that the number of executive directors at the trust is to be reduced with immediate effect – a move it is hoped will result in the creation of an executive team that is more streamlined and focused.

The changes are being implemented in an attempt to address issues of operational and financial performance that have sprung up recently.

Peter Lee, chairman of the trust's board of directors, said in a letter to staff that Mr Morgan should prove a good appointment as he has helped to successfully restructure and turn around hospitals for the past three decades.

As part of the changes, a review will take place regarding the patient records IT system, which has proved troublesome of late. ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801535220-ADNFCR
