Roche Diagnostics launches e-learning for UK nurses

27th July 2010

Roche Diagnostics has launched a new e-learning programme to help nursing staff in the UK and Ireland improve the standard of their point-of-care testing standards.

The company’s new cobas academy e-learning and re-certification platform is designed to be incorporated into hospital intranets and allows flexible, personalised training to be provided for staff in their own time.

It has been developed in conjunction with healthcare professionals in the UK and the Netherlands and has been given accreditation for its qualifications by the Royal College of Nursing.

Roche states that programmes of this kind will become more important due to the increased regulation of bedside care, as well as the focus on efficiency savings in the NHS.

Ian Parfrement, director for hospital in-vitro diagnostics at the company, said: “We hope that cobas academy will make a substantial difference in the drive towards further efficiencies in point-of-care training for UK nurses.”

Earlier this month, Roche announced its second quarter financial results for 2010, reporting year-on-year growth in earnings, sales and profits.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800006158-ADNFCR
