Roche launches compact new LightCycler Nano Instrument

1st July 2011

Roche has announced the launch of a compact new polymerase chain reaction (PCR) system developed in conjunction with IT-IS Life Sciences.

The new LightCycler Nano Instrument is designed to be small and silent, incorporating state-of-the-art technology to offer high-end thermal resolution and reproducibility, while also being intuitive to use.

It utilises proprietary Roche dyes and reagents to drive high-quality DNA amplification and melting curve analysis performance, with complete spectral information provided for a broad range of dyes.

The device can be utilised in conjunction with Mac, PC or Linux systems and can also function without the need for a dedicated computer.

Gerd Haberhausen, life cycle leader for qPCR and nucleic acid preparation at Roche Applied Science, said: "The LightCycler Nano Real-Time PCR System was built to enjoy in every lab, on every bench."

Last month, the company announced that it will be providing technologies such as microarray systems and genetic expression profilers to support life science research at the University of California, Los Angeles.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800608885-ADNFCR
