Roche launches new Cobas m 511 haematology analyser
in countries accepting the CE Mark.
Incorporating Bloodhound technology, the analyser combining three components – a digital morphology analyser, cell counter and classifier – into a single streamlined solution for preparing, staining and analysing microscopy blood slides.
It provides greater accuracy and consistency of results compared to current technologies by identifying, counting, isolating and categorising white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets, then presenting digital images in an automated fashion, delivering quick results to aid patient diagnoses.
This marks the debut of the Roche Diagnostics brand in the haematology market and aims to offer a number of advantages over current testing options, which require larger blood samples and the use of several different systems to get a full set of results.
Roland Diggelmann, chief executive officer of Roche Diagnostics, said: "We are entering a new area of innovation with Roche in haematology testing, supporting customers with integrated and efficient laboratory solutions, which deliver increased medical value."
