Roche launches new network of cancer immunotherapy centres of excellence
Roche has announced the launch of a new global network of cancer immunotherapy centres of excellence.
The imCORE Network brings together many of the world's leading scientific and clinical experts in cancer immunotherapy in order to collaborate on investigating promising treatment approaches.
Scientists from the 21 imCORE institutions will work with Roche and Genentech's teams to develop potential cures for people with cancer by leveraging the power of the human immune system.
Roche has agreed to invest up to 100 million Swiss francs (79.07 million pounds) to support basic and clinical research collaborations under this project, with the investment to be incremental to the company's ongoing studies into investigational medicines and treatment approaches in the field of cancer immunotherapy.
Dr Sandra Horning, chief medical officer and head of global product development at Roche, said: "imCORE represents our most recent commitment to collaborate with the global cancer community to further understand the biology and immunology of cancer and to develop new treatments that may one day offer a cure for people with cancer."
