Roche to implement GMP for microarray range

8th April 2010

Roche has made a commitment to implementing Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) for its NimbleGen division’s range of DNA microarrays.

The company-wide initiative will see the medical device firm work to improve the standard of its microarray production processes at all levels, from development to manufacturing.

It states that this will be conducted across all of the company’s locations and comes ahead of a planned submission of several array products to the Food and Drug Administration.

Dr Frank Pitzer, chief executive officer of Roche NimbleGen, stated that resources have already been committed to the implementation of GMP.

He added: “Roche is dedicated to providing the research, diagnostic and pharmaceutical markets with the highest quality products possible.”

Last month, the healthcare firm hosted an investor conference during which it expressed confidence in its future business prospects, thanks to its pipeline of innovative products and its successful merger with newly-acquired subsidiary Genentech.
